An almost interior

studio interiorWell stopping was a mistake. Almost 8pm and I’d love to crawl into bed. But no, more to do today. But what a day. Gloriously sunny and no wind. And one could even remove layers and woolly hat by 11am.

Manu arrived early and immediately got stuck in.   We had nine sheets of chipboard (OSB) to put to use, and that is what is cladding the walls. Manu measured, cut and drilled while I finished the last of the insulation around the ends of the studio. studio interior 1

By lunchtime it looked almost done. And what a warm and cosy transformation. I have cheekily staged this corner while disguising the fact that the whole little studio is incomplete. But by the end of the day and the end of the wood it is three quarters there.

plants for winterI had to move all the plants out in the morning; tedious as I have so many little seedlings that need to overwinter. But then that’s the point of this whole exercise. It’s just a shame that I no longer have any shelving for the plants – the chipboard planks have been donated for the walls.   But I have ideas. There are an awful lot of bits of leftover wood from the living room ceiling down in the stables. Instead of going up to the hardware store and buying yet more chipboard (well, I need five more sheets to finish the walls) I shall make staging out of the offcuts.   But not today.

Oh, yes and I did find time in between being a builder to cut back all the asparagus up in the top vegetable bed. A sad and sorry area that needs at least a day’s work to get it right.   And plant wallflowers in the barrel in the middle of the lower vegetable garden.   cutting back asparagus

And that’s all I have managed. I don’t dare look at the list of things I’d like to have achieved.   But at least I covered the lovely pile of manure that ought to have been forked onto the cleared and tidied vegetable bed.   Another list of things that have to be done next trip.   December seems so far away.
