A pre christmas foray
To London. To shop. Now those of you who know me will understand that shopping is ‘not madly me’.
But once a year needs must.
And London is rather fetching in the festive season.
I particularly like walking past this ribbon shop. Yes, a shop entirely devoted to ribbons.
And it’s just down the road from the Button Queen; a shop entirely devoted to buttons.
I love Marylebone. (Or I guess if you were living here in the Middle Ages you would have called it the district around the church of Mary Le Bon.)
It’s a half hour walk from our home in Primrose Hill and it gives me the illusion of not leaving gardens behind.
I get to walk through Primrose Hill park and then into Regent’s Park.
A perfect tonic when the crowds are too much. London is just blessed with these massive green spaces; full of walkers and dogs and families and sports people. On weekends the park is full of football games and rugby matches.
But the weekday sport seems to be dogs chasing fast squirrels up trees. In all the years of walking through this park I have never seen a dog win. Thank goodness.
