Mists and fruitfulness

artur asleep on shelfI have just put the kettle on. A large pot of tea, a few handfuls of cherries and raspberries and all is well with the world.   What a change of seasons.   Yesterday there was the most tremendous thunderstorm and we received a glorious 30mm of rain.   Luckily the soil was ready to receive it after the earlier drizzle.   And now everything is moist and damp and lovely. Mist everywhere.

Sorry to gush about weather but this rain is so welcome after the drought.   I have planted out 25 basil plants that have been pouting in pots, picked a huge punnet of raspberries for Teo and Leslie, and put the red hot poker and a pot of lilies in the car.   This afternoon I am heading up to the hills for tea and a long visit with friends.   It might be too wet to garden with them, but I can at least admire all the changes they have made to their house. russian tea pot

I have much to fill in.   But first I must drink tea. Parched.
