Meet the neighbours

I’m yawning and ready for bed. But I had to post this picture before I head off.

This little cheeky chapppy was playing in the barn when I stepped out to pick some herbs for dinner. 740pm which is as good as broad daylight.   There were two pine martens up in the rafters.

I don’t know much about the species, but these two seemed quite juvenile to me: they were playful, fearless, curious, and didn’t climb very well.   We stayed for ages taking pictures and they moved away, but didn’t scuttle off.

I need to fill you in on the whole day of gardening, but it will have to wait. I’ve baked cakes, picked berries, weeded beans, watered, cut back geraniums, the list is endless. More anon.
