Market flowers
Sedums, cosmos, pannicum flowers, chesntut leaves and a few dahlias. Not the biggest selection for my friends today, but is still festive.
Isabelle uses this natty little vase holder in the form of a bike which is sweet.
The sad news is that Madame Mauricette has died. I didn’t even think to bring flowers for Monsieur Guy to take to her as I had assumed he wouldn’t be coming any more.
But in fact he didn’t come because he was at her bedside. It is very sad indeed to think she won’t be there on the stall next spring. I was so shocked and had to take a bit of a walk before I came back to speak to him and commiserate.
I bought two kilos of figs and a dozen garlic bulbs and will make a special batch of fig, cardamon and rosewater jam in Madame Mauricette’s memory.

Oh, no! Madame Mauricette is like one of my favorite characters in a book! I’m so sad to hear it.
Perhaps you’ll place a jar of jam on her grave?

I know, isn’t it sad? I’ll really miss her.
