A Minnesotan lament

potting onDear Dan and Katherine

Sarah has told me all about your endless winter; with even more snow storms to come. I can’t imagine how frustrated you must be feeling. A new farm and a huge garden to plan and grow. A whole new life as gardeners and creators ahead of you.

But here’s a picture of what will happen. You will sow seeds, you will be pricking out seedlings and you will have plants. Truly!  I was thinking of you both as I worked quietly all afternooon – pricking out and potting on and getting these hundreds of little plants closer to the soil and the garden.

I can’t wait to see the results of your work when that snow finally melts and you can see your soil for the first time.  It can’t be long now.
