A Boxing Day stagger

Heated but refreshed. That’s my mood after a very brisk hot walk up and down the hills of Seaforth and Manly. Boy did I need that.

Nothing like the post-Christmas walk. We usually do it around the farm in the depths of winter in France.

Here it’s the glaring heat of this:

fairlightThe tall ships you can see on the harbour are for the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. It’s due to kick off around 1pm, but I don’t know if we will make it for that event. My brother usually takes his boat out.

Every yachty around will be out bobbing and weaving and watching the extraordinary race start. You can catch it on TV wherever you are. Or on You Tube.

banksiaFrankly, I’m more excited by the trees on my walk. But the tall ships were a surprise.

A few days ago I was standing in a similar spot (near Fairlight beach) and taking a snap of this:

Surfboard yoga. Yes, it’s a thing.

It puts my pathetic efforts to shame.

But I was cheered by my ability to snap these shots of flame trees along the way.
