Wishful thinking
I don’t think this is going to be a triumph of hope over experience: can you guess what these little seedlings are? I grew them from seed way back in March and they have just, barely just, put on growth.
Today I potted them on and wished them luck. They are anigozanthus. Kangaroo paw to you. A fantastic Australian native plant which will not survive in this climate.
But I can’t resist the challenge of trying to grow them. The seeds came from Sydney in January, and it has taken months and months to get them going. If they do survive the next stage I will have to coddle them over the long winter and pray for flowers next summer.

Did you get anywhere with the kangaroo paw? Mine are currently about the length of my forefinger, having grown from seed.

Hi Mike
Mine grew about as far as yours. They looked promising. They did nothing. And then they didn’t make it through one of our cold winters. I was so disappointed! Keep trying and send me cheery news. I’d love to see someone grow them from seed.
