Broom sweeping

broom This is a bit like the sorcerer’s apprentice. No sooner do I cut thistles and broom do they come romping back. No wonder these are successful plants around here. I am determined to chop off each and every branch of broom on the lower terraces today. Luckily they are easy to see being such a luminous yellow.

But just as I pointed my big loppers in the direction of said plants I kept spying a low level carpet of amost flowering thistles at my feet. So it’s now lunchtime and I can still see the huge broom plants waving merrily at me from the office window.
