Planting up
Sadly not me. I’m still in London for two more days. So I only get my gardening jollies by watching others.
In this instance Hyde Park staff planting up a much restored area behind the Serpentine lake.
They must have wondered who the sad pathetic woman was who hung about the fence taking pictures and looking on enviously.
But I am envious! Mony Don described gardeners at this time of year as coiled springs just waiting to let loose in our plots. And I couldn’t agree more.
Each morning I look at the weather forecast for our farm – gloriously sunny and warm – and just sink a bit lower in my seat. Two more days to go. Then this coiled spring will be up at dawn, dragged in at dusk and sowing, weeding, growing like mad.
