Back to square one

shade garden strimmedBack to the drawing board.  I have strimmed the festuca glauca grasses to the ground up at the shade garden.  It looks bald and forlorn.

Just the two box balls (protected with canes so I would spot them when I was strimming) sitting forlornly in the grass.

The ornamental grasses idea was a good one. But the wild festucas are just too wayward.  And too prolific at seeding.

So for now I’m going to keep them strimmed.  And then this autumn dig them up and cover the entire area with mulch.  And spend the winter thinking just what I can do design wise.   This gardening lark, it is never finished.
