September bouquets
Sedum season. Possibly my favourite flower in the garden.

Particularly as the dahlias are getting so blasted by the heat and my paltry watering attempts.
Sedum Autumn Joy. (okay, Hylotelephium ‘Herbstfreude’ ) just pump out this gorgeous rose madder colour this month and will fade gently when they notice it has stopped raining again.
I will be doing a big transplanting job this winter to place the ones straining for light under the shrubs in the shade garden elsewhere. Possibly in among the lavenders in front of the house.
For now they are going into every bouquet.

I will amble around the garden later (currently on electricity smart meter installation hell waiting for the call to be picked up…).
I did manage to sneak some Dahlia Sylvias into the bouquets. They are the only ones tall enough to fit into my arrangements. Just.

But for these two I had to resort to very titchy vases indeed.

So to make up for the paltry September selection here are the dried ones – Statys still pumping out flowers.
These are the ones just above my head as I type (and listen to tinny hold music on my phone).

And I have moved the coleus out of the potting shed into the sun just to put on a flashy show for the last house guests of the year.

But really it is a poor selection.
Instead gorge on these amazing blooms my sister sent me from David Jones Department Store in Sydney.

Truly stunning. I am deeply envious.
