Venice garden glimpses
Heaven. Heavenly Venice. And in winter no less.
I have come to visit a dear friend and gorge myself on the most stunning built environment.

But in the spirit of ‘spare me the holiday snaps’ I thought I would just give you some garden glimpses instead of the ENDLESS other delights.

And yes there are tiny cherished gardens here.

Some even more stunning for being private and hidden away.

I was ogling this one through the bars…

Until I realised that if you just step up one of the little bridges you get a good pervy view of the greenery within.

This one is just a few blocks away from home base – a gorgeous townhouse just a few steps from the Grand Canal.

It is the city for endless walking and exploring.
But I could not resist a long yomp all the way to the end of the main island as I had spotted a grove of trees.
En route there was a glimpse of the pavilions in the Biennale Gardens.
The Russia pavilion very locked up and forlorn… damn fine green hue on the walls.
I chose an incredibly blustery day to reach the end.
But well worth the mild peril of fearing I would be washed into the lagoon as I clambered close the edge.
Heading back I chose to let navigation defeat me and just wander from spotted greenery in houses and gardens and generally frolic in the odd delights.
Was that sentence too purple? Venice does that.
I am having way too much fun.
