The community harvest

harvestWe walked up around the hamlet of Boucharnoux where the cherry harvest was in full flow.  You can’t see the pickers from the huge growth of the trees.

But I recognised most of the people by the cars parked at the farm.

It is obviously a community project.

We helped ourselves to a lot of delicious black cherries on the way.  So many of the trees are conveniently planted right next to the paths.  Pilgrim paths mainly and the trees were planted to provide sustenance to the travellers enroute. wild cats

We followed the centuries old tradition with alacrity.  Even though I was wearing pale trousers (again!) and dropped cherry juice on them (again!).

These cats were snoozing on the hay bale at the farm as we passed. And didn’t they looked pleased with their perch?
