The autumn flower fest
What do you expect to find at the end of October, deep into Autumn?
Not this.

The great Dahlia sulk of summer is over, the rain has come. And so have the flowers.
And when I mean rain, it’s a spot of this…

Heavy flooding elsewhere in the Ardèche with the latest épisode cevennol.

But we got off lightly. Just two big sessions of about a foot of rain. (Sorry, can’t help myself. 300 mm but spread over a few days.)
So that damage was minor.

A few Dahlia Sylvias destined to be hung up and drying in the potting shed a week or two earlier than scheduled.
But the rest are just fine.

Ridiculously fine.

Just wait until you see the October flower bouquet blog post I’m yet to write. There is another week to go.
I need to do quite a bit of funeral flower bouquet prepping for Tousaint. All Saint’s Day. I can’t decide whether Daniele would prefer I go sombre and crimson or just electric pink…. she would have loved lots of bouquets and that is what I plan.
And there won’t be a chrysanthemum among my displays. I’ll leave that to everyone else.
