Potting shed shelving

1arturdetailA pause in the gardening today. The weather is threatening and I am stockpiling too many action shots of Artur.  So I thought we would have a photo fest of the little critter and give me time to spend a bit of time indoors writing, rather than outside weeding.

I think that I only have two areas that really need sorting out before the spring season begins.

I want to attack the weeds that are growing between the eragrostis grasses on the lawn bank. There is a thicket of nettles I want to pull out. And there are some lurking brambles that are just waiting to overtake.

And I can’t remember the second area: between the planters on the courtyard edge? Nah, that job was ticked off the list ages ago.  No doubt I will stumble across the enormous project when I amble about the garden and come across a problem.

But this damp weather might make it easier to pull them out tomorrow rather than today.

Besides, I feel I have been a weeding machine for days and days.  The compost bin is full to the brim, and my secateurs need sharpening. shelfinspection

It only took Artur a few days to investigate the new shelving in the potting shed. Sorry, his potting shed. He hasn’t turned his nose up at the new green wall I have painted.

He first had a look at the top shelf. And frankly, it was a leap too far for the old critter.

But the lower box – which I had planned to fill with gardening books and magazines – was just his size.

He isn’t happy with his blue blanket at the moment. I have no idea why. But the grotty old floor cloth suits him admirably. There is no accounting for taste.

He isn’t visiting us indoors at the moment as the potting shed is warming up nicely. It was 15C inarturtv there yesterday.

And he has taken to perching in an area that is even more precarious that a shelf in the potting shed.  Behind the tv in our living room.

It’s way too dangerous a place for an inquisitive cat. arturtv1

You can see that I recieved the death stare when I tried to shoo him out from behind the fragile electronic device.

It is hard not to chortle as he glares, but as all cat lovers know; they hate being laughed at.
