Lifestyle versus Life : Apricots

Let’s take a nice artistic shot of a beautiful apricot on my tree.

Fetching.

And now let’s pull back and show you my one apricot tree in the garden.

A fine, handsome tall tree. Planted on the south side of the wood store.

A touch exposed to the east, so yes, it is susceptible to frosts.

And for two years now I can count on the fingers of my one hand how many I can hope to eat off the tree.

And the harvest potential this year?

Four.

Yes, four. So double that of 2019 and 2023. But it’s paltry.

And it would only have been three if I hadn’t spotted this one that had fallen on the ground in the last blast of dry hot wind.

I will eat it with reverence and appreciation.

But I sure could do with a few kilos of the fruit rather than having to buy them from mates at the market.

They get their apricot trees to fruit….
