It was such a great idea, until it wasn’t
Now here is a salutary tale.
Instagram gardening versus real life.
I had this idea ages ago. Andrew gave me all these lovely little terracotta pots a few years back.

I’ve been using them as decorative delights in the potting shed. Adorable things.
But when I was looking for something to stick on all the upright supports in the potager, I thought, why not?
They look gorgeous.

Protecting my eyes from leaning into things and poking myself.
Making dull metal rods all over the garden look designed and planned.

I knew it was a risk. But there you go.
And yesterday I have given up.
Wasps of course.
Darling little busy wasps building their homes inside the upside down pots.
Can you imagine how perilous this would make harvesting once they set up house and had guard wasps stationed near by?
So this morning off they came. Only four nascent nests out of the dozens and dozens I have used.
But four are enough to make me have a rethink.

I shall just try and avoid poking my eye out when bending down.
It’s such a shame. I was enjoying them so much. Back to the potting shed they go.
