Dahlia dilemma
I’m just not sure. Both Andrew and Leslie are dahlia fanatics. But I can’t decide if I’m as keen.
I can admire the extraordinary beauty of the dahlia flower. But I think they are too stiff and too perfect.
Look at the beauty of this flower close up. It is magnificent. But I actually secretly prefer the lax behaviour of the comsos in my garden. And in my vegetable garden.
And the mole rat has taken yet another plant. The tubers are proving just too juicy a temptation for these underground creatures.
If any survive – and I have seven more plants left- I will have to plunge them in large plastic pots to save them from the munching of my least favourite underground pest.
They make slugs look like wimps.

I can’t love them either, they are stiff like chrysthansemums which are my least favourite flower

I’m so relieved you agree Bronwen, I thought I was the only one!
