Winter flowering rosemary

1courtyard snowOne step forward, two steps backward. More snow again. I think this has been our snowiest winter yet.

Thank goodness it’s not freezing cold.  But the shrubs are getting covered in yet more snow.  It looks so strange to see the rosemary flowering in winter and also covered in ice.

But rosemary is plucky.

And so am I.  I decided that even though it was icy I could at least drag yet more sticks out of the forest and build up my pile for chipping.

And it is marvellously warming work.stickdragging

And I have a plan for where I want the next bit of mulch to go. It’s time to sort out the pool bank. And more specifically, the edge of the pool bank where wildflowers have been growing.  But I’m going to have to wait for it to warm up. I don’t want to try and start the chipper in this cold weather.

At least there are sunny glimpses. Maybe it will all melt quickly and I can get on with projects, rather than just staring forlornly out of the window with yet another cup of tea.
