The last rustic fence

fence finishedSometimes it’s nice to show the evolution of the garden fencing. I’ve kept this short two metre fence as a sort of museum piece. A reminder of 2013 when I went fence mad and with Leslie’s help built my own chestnut fences.

And they worked. For about six months.  But I’m happier with the more permanent and solid chestnut fencing that spans the perimeter of the potager and the top of the pool bank.

But this little one is a pause between two parts of the garden beside my potting shed.  On the right, the shade garden, orderly and planned. On the left the more experimental beds of the terrace bank where anything goes.
