Lavish watering
And this seems to be the sum total of my major work. Is watering gardening? Well it’s certainly nurturing. Especially now as I have all my hose attachement and hoses sorted. So much fun to give things a good dose. I hadn’t planned to do it of course; but I noticed that the pool bank was looking particularly parched. And two of the allium purple sensations are about to open. So I started there, just to test to see if the hose would reach comfortably and then I was off. The hedge has been cared for, the marjoram between the trees, the terrace bank, just about everywhere I could think.
I was putting off strimming of course. But eventually pulled myself away from my favourite warm weather activity and went back to planting out.
In this quadrant – safely netted – I added coriander, more lettuce and leftover spinach. I’m hoping they will benefit from the extra watering the peas and beans always get and grow up and away before they become a bother.
Next to the carrot seeds went some marigold plants. I can’t quite see the carrot seeds yet – there are too many cosmos seedlings in the way. I’m going to let them get a bit larger and then try and transplant them away from the crops.
