Colour in the garden

1tulipalliumherbgardenI’m not sure about the tulip  and allium combination. Too close in colour but not enough contrast.

Ah well. Planting tulip bulbs every winter is always fun if you buy different colours every year. I just have to remember that these two don’t really go.

And nor do the hilariously coloured yellow iris that are finally out in the barn garden rocks area.

Oh my. Put your sunglasses on to look at these beauties.1irisyellow  Thank goodness the flowering season is so short.

I’m just relieved the centre of the petals are a plain yellow and not a scrambled egg white jumble.

But that’s mean of me; I’m grateful for any colour in the garden.

And when the glare of the yellow iris are too much I can walk down through the gardens, beyond the courtyard and out to the east garden.

There I can gaze and gaze on the wonder that is the white wisteria on the east side of the house.
