Alpine harvesting

wild raspberriesFeast your eyes on our breakfast fare.

Wild strawberries and raspberries.  Small explosions of very intense flavour that zing all the way down.

We have come up to the Alps again this year – in the Ecrins National Park; and my favourite task (apart from pouring out the evening whisky) is to go hunting wild food.

Alice and Paul joined us this year and I took advantage of Alice’s local knowledge of the best locations for a forest forage. sipping

Up the track, along the forest path and then once you hit the bridge, look up to the right.  Wild raspberry canes grow all over this alpine region, and if you watch where you step, you can spot intense wild strawberries as well.  Bliss.
